In 1992, Carry founded Pachacuti as a result for her passion for improving the lives of Andean producers, their communities and preserving traditional skills in textile production.  Pachacuti designs Fair Trade clothing, accessories and is a specialist in genuine panama hats produced by Andean cooperatives with which they have long-term partnership.  In 2007, Pachacuti is the recipient of the British Small Business Champions Ethical Award.

Pachacuti joined WFTO in 2006 and became the first of the 12 pilots to be certified under the Sustainable Fair Trade Management System (SFTMS) version two.  It is also the first Fair Trade organization that can carry a WFTO certified Fair Trade label on their products.

Carry Somers is also the co-founder of Clean Slate, the UK's first fair trade and organic school uniform company and has taken on roles as Enterprise UK Ambassador, University of Essex Alumna of the Year 2009, East Midlands Ambassador and Business Language Champion.

Congatulations Carry for the nomination!
